On August 13, Coupang’s Global Operations Technology and Product teams gathered for an exhilarating event that brought together over 300 employees in a vibrant gymnasium. Hosted by Harshal Wanjari and coordinated by Irina Kim, the atmosphere of the event was charged with excitement as participants engaged in a variety of games, indulged in delicious food, and strengthened the sense of community.
The event was meticulously planned to create an environment where team members could relax, bond, and have fun while embodying the core values that drive Coupang’s success. Employees were divided into four teams, named after Coupang’s leadership principles: ‘Wow the Customer,’ ‘Simplify,’ ‘Deep Dive,’ and ‘Hate Waste.’
Employees competed in a series of lively games, including volleyball, pyramid building, OX quiz, Tetris game, jump rope, and tug-of-war. These activities were designed to encourage teamwork, problem-solving skills, all while creating a buzz of enthusiasm and interaction throughout the gymnasium.
The event was also a culinary delight, with a selection of finger foods including vegan menus. Attendees had the chance to win exciting items adding an extra layer of excitement and motivation.
Feedback from participants reflected the success of the day. "We all had a fantastic time. The thoughtful organization of the event made this offsite an unforgettable experience,” said an employee. It highlights the off-site event was not just about taking a break from work, but also about reinforcing the importance of team cohesion and mutual support.
By creating opportunities for employees to bond and collaborate, Coupang continues to strengthen its commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. The day renewed a sense of connection to participants’ colleagues and to our shared goals. It demonstrates our success is built not just on hard work, but on collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence.
