Global Accounting

As our Leader of Global Accounting for Coupang, you will be responsible for the global consolidation and financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities:

The person in this role must be perform the following:

  • Supervise and develop the work of the Global Accounting team
  • Effectively work with other accounting teams throughout the organization in planning close schedule deadlines and implementing accounting policies
  • Effectively communicate with various groups throughout the organization (e.g., legal, FP&A, HR, etc.) to address the needs of the Global Accounting function and support other functions
  • Oversee the preparation of financial information (e.g., monthly reporting and annual financial statements)
  • Prepare and/or review global accounting documentation (e.g., policy documents and supporting documentation for financial information)
  • Review global financial information and address user questions and comments on consolidated financial information
  • Effectively support external audit functions
  • Implement effective control processes within the Global Accounting function
  • Implement ongoing process improvements


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • KI CPA or US CPA
  • More than 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Accounting and financial reporting skills, deadline-oriented, attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word
  • SAP experience
  • Fluent in English & Korean

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience and background in accounting (KIFRS is a must and US GAAP experience is preferred)
  • Experience in financial reporting (KIFRS is a must and US GAAP experience is preferred)
  • Some public accounting (i.e., KPMG, Deloitte, EY, or PwC) experience is preferred
  • Good writing and communication skills - ability to speak and write in English and Korean
  • Ability to lead and supervise
  • Experience with SAP preferred
