About WOW UX Team ๐Ÿš€

Product UX is Coupang's biggest UX team, creating experiences such as Coupang App, Rocket Wow Membership, Rocket Fresh, and Coupang Eats. Our goal is to get our customers to experience Coupang easily, quickly, and seamlessly, and focus solely on creating a great experience in a horizontal culture where they can freely exchange feedback.

The WOW UX Team focuses on building a great experience for our Rocket WOW members. We work on products and features related to the core WOW Membership experience and benefits, like account management, same day and dawn delivery, cash-back rewards, and 30-Day return. We also focus on benefits that are exclusive to Rocket WOW Members, including Rocket Fresh (Coupangโ€™s grocery delivery service), and the newly launched Coupang Play App which offers unlimited streaming of TV shows and movies. Rocket WOW Members are our most loyal and regular customers and depend on Coupang every day, and the WOW UX team aims to make that everyday experience more convenient and reliable.

We are looking for a hands-on leader to join the WOW UX Team and help define the customer experience for our WOW members as well as act as a strategic partner with other leaders and mentor and manager junior designers.

  • Strategic Partner โ€“ As a leader, you will partner closely with Product Owners as well as engineers, marketers, legal, and HR to help to define our strategic approach, identify customer problems, and weigh tradeoffs. You and your team will be responsible for solving customer problems in a way that positively impacts Coupangโ€™s business. And your skills as a communicator will help align leaders behind a strategic vision.
  • Hands on product designer and creative leader โ€“ The Coupang UX Team is a hands-on design culture. We expect leaders to be skilled designers that exemplify thoughtful process, refined design, and a customer-centric perspective when solving design problems. You also must be confident and comfortable in directing their team and demanding excellence in every detail, as you will be responsible for the pace and quality of your teamโ€™s output.
  • Holistic problem solver โ€“ Leaders at Coupang must think systematically and use both intuition and evidence (data, benchmarks of best practices, testing and analysis, etc) to find solutions to customer problems.

Qualifications ๐Ÿš€

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, HCI, Computer Science, Psychology, Ethnography or equivalent practical experience.
  • An outstanding portfolio, showcasing a foundation in typography, interaction design, visual design, and user research.
  • Someone who is good at using design tools such as Sketch, Zeplin, Adobe, etc, and has extensive knowledge of best practices.
  • Has more than seven years of experience in product design experience
  • Some experience in managerial duties, including mentorship and performance management.
  • Experienced in developing the overall strategy of the project and creating the basis for the results.
  • An outstanding portfolio, showcasing a foundation in typography, interaction design, visual design, and user research.
  • Extensive experience closely partnering with product owners to develop the overall strategy of the project, creating a rational for design features, and defining the metrics of success.
  • Have extensive knowledge of the e-commerce industry, including customers, sellers and businesses operations.
